Below is a basic listing of the individuals buried in the South Cortland Cemetery, based on John Hoeschele's 2009-11 surveys of the site (aka: markers still evident and, to one extent or another, capable of offering clues as to who is buried where).
> A more comprehensive listing (including ongoing notes/research from period newspapers, etc.) can be seen in this
spreadsheet. (The version is current as of April 24, 2011 and will be updated/replaced it as new information is
gathered, added via research.)
> Names in green are links to genealogical information received from descendents. (If you are related to -- or have such
information on -- anyone interred here, please forward it for posting: JH would be happy to post it, provided its file size
is reasonable).
> Photographs of all headstones/footstones, including notes comparing recent transcriptions taken by JH to those taken
by Katherine Worden Crutts in 1932 (avail at the Cortland County Historic Society). This comparison, it should be noted,
makes it clear how the stones have deteriorated over the intervening nearly 80 years.

Additional information:
As research on this cemetery continues/evolves, anyone with knowledge specific to the families or individuals interred here is welcome to submit their findings.
> John Calvert: Happy to post two documents generously donated by Robert H. Calvert of Pennsylvania (a descendant of
John Calvert). The first is general information regarding the John Calvert headstone in the South Cortland Cemetery and
John Calvert himself; the second is a "ceremonial program" and addenda distributed to relatives and guests when, on June
15, 2013,Robert H. Calvert honored his ancestor and others buried in the cemetery with a new grave marker.
> John & Hanah Stanbro: This information was generously supplied by Fred and Jacquie Schattner (Fred is a
descendent of James Stanbro, John Jr.'s brother). Anyone with additional information about the Standbro (or Whittlesey)
families is encouraged to contact Jacquie Schattner at eatatfreds@comcast.net
> Wattsford McAllister: In the summer of 2010, following the Cortland Standard's article on the South Cortland Cemetery
initiative, Hazel Elizabeth McAllister (b: Aug 24, 1954) -- great grand-daughter of Wattsford McAllister -- contacted John
Hoeschele. Hazel now lives in Harford/Virgil near her brother, Morgan Robert McAllister (b: Jan. 31, 1947) and his
wife Barbara Jeaninne (Merihew) McAllister (b. Dec. 12, 1950). Hazel and Barbara were kind enough to visit with
Hoeschele on Aug 31 to chat about the South Cortland Cemetery and the McAllister family's relationship to the site.
(Notes, photos of pages from the McAllister family bible, and a photo of these local McAllisters descendants coming
soon!)
> Ganavort Melville Robinson: This note received by John Hoeschele on December 28, 2014 from Peter Waldron of Pinellas
County, Florida:"My great-great-grandparents Dr. Almon and Eliza Robinson's 2.5-year old son is buried in the South
Cortland cemetery. 50-years ago, my Uncle (Ethan Waldron) and I visited the aged cemetery and saw the worn foot-stone.
When I returned in 2012, I could not locate it. [Presumably] one of the obliterated stones could be of Gransavort Melville
Robinson: Birth 27 Aug 1844 -- Death 1 Feb 1847. Regards, Peter Waldron."
